WELCOME

The Mercury Centre specialises in building collaborative enterprises through consultancy, research, information, advice and training.

We describe collaborative enterprise as a group of people working together to achieve a common goal. The recipients of the rewards or dividends from that effort may range from the group themselves through to the entire community.

The Mercury Centre cultivates a business approach based on ethical values through providing services that strengthen organisational capacity. We promote the values of co-operation and teamwork; innovation and learning; empowerment; ethical conduct; open communication; and fairness.

The Mercury Centre helps people understand and enjoy the rights, responsibilities, rewards and risks of shared ownership.

The Mercury Centre works with organisations at all levels. We have grown from a training organisation to one that works with our clients to build stronger communities.

We work with people wishing to build strong enterprises with values and ethics as an integral component of their activities. We have an interest in working with people who have limited access to appropriate business skills, support and practices, in particular the community, social enterprise, and regional Australia sectors. We combine business processes to assist in building sustainable, relevant and capable organisations that work for better mental health.

The Mercury Centre Co-operative Limited is a co-operative registered under the New South Wales Co-operative Act.

The Mercury Centre has a range of products and services in four primary service areas:

Corporate Governance:

We work with boards and management to deliver practical governance solutions.

Ownership Strategies:

We act as “ownership architects” and help people and organisations move from concept to implementation. We provide a range of services including ownership planning, community buyouts, business succession and employee ownership.

Co-operative Development:

We assist groups to develop new co-operatives as well as helping to grow and refine existing co-operatives.

Mental Health:

We use our strengths of governance and community development in the mental health area, with a primary focus on those with a lived experience of mental health problems.
